Can I purchase this policy for my spouse and children?

No. Unfortunately for this year, the policy is only available for the international students, OPT students and exchange scholars.

I was an international student but currently hold F1 visa during the period of Optional Practical Training (OPT). Can I purchase this policy? What is your eligibility requirement?

YES, international students with OPT status are eligible to enroll in this insurance plan. This means a lot more savings for you. If you purchase other health insurance (not for students), it easily costs more than $250 to have the similar coverage.

How can I know whether or not my school regards iStudentCity's plan as an equivalent or acceptable coverage?

You may go to see your advisors in, either International Student Service (ISS), Health Center (HC) or other departments like Insurance Office, which they can assist you to make a judgement whether or not our plan meets your school's minimum requirements. Our plan is popularly accepted by most public and private universities or colleges nationwide.

Should I submit an insurance policy waiver to my school earlier than I purchase iStudentCity's policy?

Yes, before you purchase this insurance plan, you need to consult your school advisor and file an insurance waiver form. If you are not sure if iStudentCity policy satisfies your school's requirements, send your school waiver form to [email protected] and we will verify it for you.

How can I request proof of purchase of iStudentCity's plan from the insurance company?

After you purchase the insurance, you may dial a toll free customer service number at 1-800-537-1777 (please mention Policy No. SCH00003) and ask the insurance company to email or fax it to you.

Can I purchase iStudentCity's plan by monthly payment?

There is a three-month minimum requirement for purchasing monthly coverage. You may purchase it for 3, 4, 5 or more months and pay it in advance. If you remit less than 3 months coverage, your premium will be returned.

What do the following terms showing on your waiver application mean, including insurance company, insurance company phone number, insurance policy number, subscriber name, policy owner's name, insured name, and effective date?

Our Insurance company is QBE Insurance Company; insurance company phone number is 1-800-537-1777; insurance policy number is SCH00003; subscriber name, policy owner's name and insured name all indicate your own legally full name; the effective date is the time when your insurance begins.

Does iStudentCity's insurance benefit include the maternity and complications of pregnancy?

Yes, it will be paid as any other sickness. Please refer to the insurance plan brochure for details.

Does this policy cover the expenses for visiting an optometrist who can examine the eyes for visual defects, diagnose problems or impairments, and prescribe corrective lenses?

No, any vision service and supply related to eyeglasses or contact lenses or prescriptions or fitting of eyeglasses will not be covered. But, based on its accidental death & dismemberment benefits rider, entire and irrecoverable loss of sight resulting from any one injury will be paid.

Does iStudentCity's policy cover the expenses for dental treatment?

No, dental treatment is generally not covered by student health insurance. However, it could be made necessarily by accidental injury to sound, natural teeth.
