Scholarships for International Students
Recently, we've found some scholarship opportunities for
which international students are eligible. As far as we have
been able to determine,
none of these scholarships are restricted to
U.S. citizens - as you know, financial aid can be hard to
come by, so don't let these opportunities go to waste!

- Datatel Scholars Foundation
Datatel is offering multiple scholarships through four programs. Award amounts
vary from $700 to $5000. You apply through your school, which must be a
participating institution (it probably is). The schools must submit the
applications they select by February 15, so you will need to
get your application in to your school's financial aid office before then.
Full information, lists of participating schools, application forms and
more are available at the Datatel Scholars Foundation's website.
- The American Society of Civil Engineers
If you're studying civil engineering, you should know that
ASCE is offering a variety of scholarships and fellowships.
These are offered to ASCE members only - which is a good reason
to join.
- The Charles Babbage Institute
The Babbage Institute is offering a scholarship
of over $10,000 to graduate students interested in the
history of computing.
- The World Bank
The World Bank has some funds available for withdrawl,
if your field is economic development. The Joint
Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program supports
graduate study. Applicants who already hold a degree from
an industrialized country are ineligible. The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships
Program supports postgraduate research. Its deadline will
probably fall in August.
- Phi Beta Kappa
PBK is offering its $20,000 Mary Isabel Sibley
Fellowship to single women intending to pursue postgraduate
research in the humanities. The deadline will probably be
January 15, but contact them for current information.
